What Exterior Projects Cost in North Bay, What to Expect Before You Get a Quote
One of the first questions people have is what a project is going to cost.
The honest answer is it depends on the level of work, but I also know most people want a realistic idea before reaching out.
So here’s a breakdown of how pricing typically works and what you can expect.
Most of my work is priced based on square footage or linear footage depending on what’s being done.
From there, the final price comes down to the level of detail, how everything ties together, and the condition of the structure we’re working with.
For siding, most projects typically fall somewhere between $10 and $20 per square foot.
That includes everything from simpler installs to more detailed work with trims, soffit, fascia, and custom finishing.
A smaller, straightforward job will be on the lower end, while full builds with more detail land higher.
As a rough idea, a full house siding project will often fall somewhere in the $20,000 to $60,000+ range depending on size and scope.
Steel siding is something I do a lot of, especially when people are looking for something lower maintenance that still looks clean.
It usually falls within that same range, but custom work like brake-formed trims, post and beam capping, and detailed finishing can push it higher depending on the job.
For roofing, steel roofs are typically in the $8 to $14 per square foot range.
Screw-down steel is on the lower end, while standing seam is higher due to the added time, setup, and precision involved.
Most full roof projects fall somewhere in the $12,000 to $30,000+ range depending on size and system.
Soffit, fascia, and custom trim work are usually priced separately.
This is typically based on linear footage and the level of detail involved.
Custom steel fascias, trims, and capping take more time to fabricate and install properly, which is where pricing can vary more than people expect.
Something I always explain is that two houses that look similar from the outside can price completely different once you get into the details.
Things like height, access, framing condition, and how everything needs to tie together all play a role in the final number.
I also don’t price jobs low just to get them and then add extras later.
I’d rather be upfront about what it takes to do the job properly so there are no surprises once things get started.
At the end of the day, you’re not just paying for materials.
You’re paying for how the job is done, how it looks when it’s finished, and how long it’s going to last.
